訳したいのに訳せない言葉って結構ありますよね！？
当たり前なのですが、日本語、英語は全く違うもので、訳してしまうとニュアンスが違ったり意味が変わってしまうものもあります。
There are words that you can’t translate in to. You have to remember language are different. And sometimes when you translate, the meaning changes to a different meaning.
以前はよく海外の方を呼んでワークショップなどをやっていたのですが、すごい苦労したのを覚えています。翻訳されている方は本当にすごいなと感心するばかりです！
I used to organize workshops from people overseas. But it was really difficult. I’m really amazed by all the translators.
そんな時よく訳せなくて困ったものや
最近YouTubeでアメリカのテレビ番組やスタンドアップコメディをみるのにはまっていて笑これ日本語であったらなーと思う事などを書きます！！
So these are some words that I had difficulty translating.
Recently I'm watching lots of comedy shows or standup on youtube. And felt we should have this word in Japanese.

Ganbare Ganbatte
これよく使いたくなるのですが、なかなか同じようなニュアンスのものが
ないんですよね。
You use it when you want to cheer someone.
Like someone is going to have a competition. You say Ganbare.
Someone is trying to do something and you tell them Ganbare.
You can do it. Go for it. Is similar but different.
I think "You can do it" is foucused on the person but "Ganbare" is more foucused on the thing you do!

Otsukaresamadesu
これは近い言葉もあまりないですね！
頭を下げる文化がないからなのか、お願いします！とかもないですよね
This is a word that only exist in Japan. I think because our bowing culture.
It’s a word you can tell your workers when you finish working.
Or when you finish some kind of work.
We finished our soccer practice ”Otsukaresamadeshita”
日本語の素敵な言葉ですね！

When you start eating. kind of like
Thank you to the food
ごちそうさまでした！
Gochisosama deshita
↑これはそのまま日本語でよく教えていました!
When you finish eating.
Same. It’s like thank you for the food.
You also use it when someone bought you some food.
If you are a foreigner and used it in Japan, the people who heard it will be impressed and blessed at the same time.

Tadaima
You say it when you get home.
おかえり
Okaeri
You say it when someone came back home and said tadaima. You answer back Okaeri
これも日本の美しい言葉ですね！英語にあってもおかしくないですが、ないんですね。不思議ですね。I'm home とかありますが、毎日使うというより、帰ってきたのに誰もいなくてI'm home と叫んだりするイメージです

くしゃみをした時に、くしゃみをしてた人が言われて、thank you と返します！
またありがとうというような意味もあります！

キリスト教文化が根強いのもあり、

とかよく聞きますよね！
I will miss you.
会えなくなるのは寂しい
とよく訳されますが、なんか違うんです笑
寂しいからマイナスイメージをとった感じです！
そして会えなくてというより、
居ないことが想像できない
というようなニュアンスでしょうか。。。最後は私の好きな言葉
You deserve it!!
これは言われてとっても嬉しい言葉で、使いたいので日本語でもあるといいのにとよく思います！
例えば何かに優勝したり評価してもらえた時に
相手に言ったりします
あなたは今まで努力してきたのだから当然だよ！
みたいなニュアンスです！
悪い時は逆に
あなたは今まで悪い行いが返ってきたんだよ！
あまり悪い時に使ったことないです。。。
つまり今までの過程がその結果ということを伝えています！
結婚おめでとうの時に海外の友達に言われて、今までの全てを褒められている気がしてとても嬉しかったのをよく覚えています！
英語を学ぶと言葉から文化の違い学べ考え方も広がりますね！！
